What are Vans All Mountain - MTE Footwear?

Made for the elements. Vans created a series of footwear made for our unpredictable winter weather. All shoes in this product line have upgraded outer soles, insulation and waterproofing. There are 4 categories of the MTE series: MTE-1, MTE-2, MTE-3 and Snow MTE Boot. With each category they increase the amount of features to keep the elements out, keeping you warm and dry.

Here is a breakdown of each category in the MTE series:

MTE-1:

• MOISTURE MANAGEMENT - A water-resistant upper provides a splash and puddle guard around the shoe and over the toe, resulting in reliable, comfortable, breathable moisture management protection.
• THERMOREGULATION - The zonal MTE™-1 Primaloft® insulation package uses a high-quality microfiber thermal insulation system to mimic the warmth-providing properties of down, keeping you warm without retaining internal moisture.
• TRACTION - MTE™-1’s lugged outsole is throw-stuff-at-me ready design that incorporates multi-directional treads, multi-level surfacing, and a siped tire-like design for increased traction in wet conditions.
• COMFORT AND SUPPORT - MTE™-1 comfort package uses a single-density UltraCush™ molded EVA footbed for upgraded comfort.

MTE-2:

• MOISTURE MANAGEMENT - The MTE™-2 HydroGuard™ 360o package is watertight and stretchable, which results in comfortable, breathable waterproof technology.
• THERMOREGULATION - The zonal MTE™-2 Primaloft® insulation package uses a high-quality microfiber thermal insulation system to mimic the warmth-providing properties of down, keeping you warm without retaining internal moisture.
• TRACTION - The All-Trac MTE™-2 outsole offers a rubber compound that provides flexible underfoot lugs to bend with terrain changes, creating more surface area and better variable adaptability.
• COMFORT AND SUPPORT - Our MTE™-2 dual-density comfort package uses a single-density UltraCush™ molded EVA footbed with an OrthoLite® topsheet for enhanced comfort and reduced weight, while also supporting a drier, healthier environment inside your shoe.

MTE-3:

• MOISTURE MANAGEMENT - Engineered with a breathable waterproof internal bootie that allows moisture to escape while keeping snow and rain out, the GORE-TEX® “GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY™” promise is trusted in any condition.
• THERMOREGULATION - This 3M Thinsulate™ insulation package is thin, lightweight, and warm. An extremely fine microfiber weave helps to trap air and block heat loss, making for incredibly efficient heat retention while allowing internal moisture to escape.
• TRACTION - MTE™-3 All-Trac outsole is a terrain destroyer. Using Vans’ proprietary All-Trac cold weather rubber compound for added flexibity and ground contact in colder temperatures and a dynamic lugged tread pattern that grips for days, the inaccessible never felt so accessible.
• COMFORT AND SUPPORT -  MTE™-3 triple-density comfort package includes a dual-density UltraCush™ molded EVA footbed with an OrthoLite® topsheet for enhanced comfort and reduced weight—all while supporting a drier, healthier environment inside your shoe.
• MOLDED TOE/HEEL PROTECTION - When impact and compression resistance is needed, a TPU molded toe cap is the solution. In addition to adding a little extra space in the toe box, these modeled components offer higher-level abrasion safeguarding and overall protection.

SNOW MTE BOOT:

• TRACTION - Specially designed for cruising around in cold weather conditions, the Standard Snow MTE outsole with All-Trac™, a cold weather-specific all-terrain rubber compound, offers next-level grip and traction. Featuring an aggressive reverse waffle lug pattern for variable terrain and street performance, and a siped tire-like design that increases overall traction.
• INSULATION - Shoveling the walkway, walking the dog, or running to the market—we all want warm feet on a cold day, and the heavy-duty, removable felt liner will keep you cozy.
• MOISTURE MANAGEMENT - A vulcanized rubber lower and waterproof, seam-sealed construction provide an impenetrable leak guard.

VANS COLFAX BOOT MTE-1

Vans Colfax Boot has a utility design that already lends itself to MTE’s promise of Protection from the Elements. Built with rubber overlays, an MTE-approved lugged outsole, and easy on/off pull tabs, this new MTE iteration is further supported by an improved Moisture Management Package and PrimaLoft insulation for cold weather environments. VANS SHERPA MID SLIP MTE-1 BOOT

Vans Mid Slip MTE-1 are water resistant, supported with a Primaloft® insulation package, and offering next-level traction, the Mid Slip MTE-1 Sherpa is a contemporary cold weather classic and must have for anyone looking for easy in/easy out protection from the elements. It is made with suede uppers featuring cozy Sherpa linings for added comfort and style.

VANS ULTRARANGE EXO HI MTE-1

Protection from the elements and styling that only Vans can deliver, the UltraRange EXO Hi MTE-1 is built for adventure. Featuring water resistance, enhanced heat retention, and reliable traction, this all-weather shoe is built to get you there—wherever there is. It is made with leather, textile, and synthetic uppers.

VANS SK8-HI MTE-2 SHOE

Vans Standard Snow MTE Boot

The Standard Snow MTE is the modern standard in winter boots—weatherproofing, warmth, and traction wrapped in Vans style. Complete with a waterproof vulcanized look, heavy-duty felt liner, and Standard Snow MTE outsole featuring All-Trac all-terrain rubber, this Sidestripe snow boot is a contemporary cold weather classic in the Vans family, and the obvious choice for all your winter needs. It is made with leather and synthetic uppers.

VANS STANDARD ZIP SNOW MTE BOOT

On this model they added an extra zipper on the inside of the boot to give an easier entry.

This colourway is the Parker Szumowski pro model (Same guy that's on the front windows of the shop). He is the last one to bed, the first to wake up. That’s Parker Szumowski.
